  • Step 1

    Call us to schedule your initial consultation. Tell us about your company!

  • Step 2

    After discussing your circumstances, at your request, we will email or fax an engagement letter for your review and signature. Upon receipt of your signed engagement letter, we will establish your company’s tax and accounting file and schedule all relevant tax deadlines for your Company.

    As a client of Mark Borel & Associates, Inc., you are ensuring that your company will be scheduled for tax deadlines and notification of any necessary action required for mandatory compliance with appropriate taxing authorities.

  • Step 3

    We will notify you as pending deadlines approach so that you can take proper, timely action to stay in tax compliance.

  • Step 4

    Following your Company’s fiscal year end, we will notify you and provide checklists, questionnaires or worksheets designed to guide you in organizing the information we require to prepare your financial statements and tax returns. We can also prepare your individual federal and state tax return, at your request.

    If necessary, we will automatically prepare an extension request and file it with the IRS. You no longer need to worry about missing tax deadlines!

  • Step 5

    We will notify you monthly of your need to transmit to us via email/fax/mail your source documents for use in preparing your Company’s financial statements and tax return. Typically, we require bank statements, payroll information, credit card statements, and copies of loan documents to get the job done.

  • Step 6

    Upon receipt of your information, we begin processing by organizing your accounting information on a QuickBooks based format (we support other accounting formats, too!). We will go the extra mile to ensure that your information is accurately presented, with an eye towards avoiding IRS “red flags”. We are always on the look out for ways to reduce your taxes, without putting you in jeopardy with the IRS.

    If you decide that you would like to do your own day-to-day accounting, we can give you a personalized, low cost lesson in QuickBooks, and will be happy to deliver your QuickBooks computer file to you, so that you can continue on, without having to re-enter data.

  • Step 7

    DONE! You receive your financial statements and tax returns.

At your request, we will provide you with consultation services on an as-needed basis. We will always be available via email, fax, or phone to review any information and answer your questions.

We want to hear from you! Our clients appreciate that we encourage their calls, and typically do not bill for short phone conversations (5-10 min.). It is common for us to talk to our clients immediately when they call us, but if you must leave a message, we excel at returning your calls and emails. You will not wait days or weeks for us to respond to your questions.
